It was February 14th 2016, and I had found myself wanting to tell someone about my life, But I just haven’t found them yet so I decided I would write it down waiting for the right time to share the tales and truth of Dejante Tavernier yeah that’s ME!
Childhood.
I was born November 25th 2001, to Selina Tavernier and Ellsion Pearce. My mum refers to me as a gift from God, as she prayed to have a baby and her prayers were answered. I must admit I’m spoiled rotten!
As a family we go on lots of trips/holidays my favourites so far are Disneyland, Turkey and Dominica. Lots of my cousin’s live in Dominica, So I felt at home my granddad has a mansion opposite the beach in Scotts Head, the views are amazing. Both my grandparents on my maternal side were born in Dominica, so it was refreshing to see my routes. Hearing the language which I’ve grown to recognise and eat, the food I enjoy. The taste of the fresh fish, the blue ocean watching the tropical fish. It is like paradise!
I love football so I am always playing, I’ve been in newspapers and Westminster sports magazines, football is my passion and don’t think I’ll ever stop playing. I was an only child, for many years this was great as I got all of the attention. It felt to good to be true I was living the dream and then… There came a new baby I was extremely happy but I slowly started to realise that there was a lot less time for me but a small price to pay for a little brother. His name is Blake spelt Blaque, this makes him happy seeing that his name is common but spelt uniquely!
when I was nine my brother was 2 this was very fun we used to spend a lot of time together. I used to teach him how to play football, walk, eat and even talk I was instrumental in him reaching his milestones at a rapid speed! we bonded very well but why wouldn’t we were brothers.
double digits
When I turned ten it was very exciting and I was finally getting discovered in my football career by this time I had been scouted for QPR twice, Tottenham and Brentford I have been on many trail. I’m just waiting to be discovered. I was finally becoming a big boy, there were a lot of new privileges and responsibility like going places by my self and best of all, getting my first phone. This was amazing! Learning how to work it, which was tricky, at first but after a while I learnt and I loved it, this lead me too not showing people at home any interest or wanting to do any homework my PS3 was a problem with homework to as I was glued to that. Just like any other ten year old this put a huge strain on the relationship with my family as I was hooked on my PS3.
Teen
I was a child but now I’m a teenager this is amazing, I can vencher to far places by myself or with friends. I can travel because I have a Oyster card and I can go football I’m enjoying my independence. On a less positive note mum will probably make me go to the corner shop to get nappy, wipes, or milk but again small price to pay for a baby sister her name is Halo-Jenall her and football are the reasons I wake up in the morning. The forces that helps me be a better person.
life at the moment is fun I’m carefree but I’m growing to a young man. Waiting to see we’re football takes me, and trying to focus on education so if things don’t work out have something to fall back on.
